Financial Awards

  • Competitive 6th year PhD funding (2014-2015) merit-based full support (tuition, health insurance, fees and stipend) from the Graduate School of Brown University.
  • Joukowsky Summer Travel Award (Summer 2013) in the sum of $800: “The Joukowsky Summer Research Award Program was developed by the Graduate School in 2012 to provide additional funding for scholarly activities outside of Brown during the summer months.”
  • Creating Change Conference (Spring 2009): Full travel fund support to attend the conference in Denver, CO, with flight, accommodation and conference fee (LGBTQ Resource Center at Syracuse University)
  • Travel Award, The School Board of Strasbourg (Spring 2009): Full travel support to participate in a conference as one of the panelists.
  • 2-years support package, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Syracuse University (2007-2009): full support for tuition and fees, plus a 9-months stipend with a teaching assistantship package.

  • Nominated for the K Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award (Fall 2014): Nomination by Associate Dean of the Graduate School (Brown University) Jabbar Bennett, with letter of support from Vice President of Campus Life and Student Affairs Margaret Klawunn (Brown University).
  • Semifinalist for Research Matters! a TED-talk style event organized for the 250th anniversary of Brown during the Fall Weekend celebrations (Fall 2014).
